Cowboy Mine

This former mine is located within the Banner Mining District of the Dripping Springs Mountains. While the mine was a producer of many commodities, its most significant production was in gold. By 1920, at least $25,000 in gold had been mined.

The workings of the mine included multiple shafts and pits, including a 250-foot tunnel in a 50-foot deep shaft.

Access to the mine can only be gained by a narrow challenging road leading from the Vanadium Mine. This road is surprisingly not marked on the historical topographic map and can only be seen by a satellite map. This road should only be taken by a narrow 4×4 high clearance vehicle with the proper accessories (i.e., winch and spare tire).
