Mammoth Spar Mine

Also known as the Lucky Strike Mine, the Mammoth Spar Mine has a short history of fluorspar production.

First reports about the Mammoth Spar Mine come from a memo from 1943. This memo stated that two men were working the property on a government loan to produce fluorspar. Decades later, A field engineers report from 1973 discussing fluorspar production in the Wickenburg area noted, “The greatest production 100 tons of 63% CaF2 (fluorspar) came from the Mammoth Spar mine in 1953.” Little to no other documentation exists about the mine after that.

Today, the remains of this fluorspar mine consist of a few foundations that once supported a headframe.
